And they're uniting to share their secrets and help raise funds for an excellent cause!
The Why
As warriors, we are seen by the public as physically strong and emotionally resilient — ready to defend against evil at a moment's notice.
While this may be true, we too are mentally vulnerable to the same stressors as the rest of society.
In our post-pandemic era, the economy is weak, inflation is painfully high, and violent crime is out of control.
These are tough, stressful times.
It's no wonder that 26% of adult Americans — about 1 in 4 — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in any given year, according to the National Institutes of Health.
That's why Tiga Tactics wants to make a difference.
We're teaming up with Sensei Isaac Bertin of Vision Quest Martial Arts to host this in-person Super Seminar to help bring awareness to mental health among the martial arts community and raise funds for Sensei Nicholas Milliken and his family.
For his entire adult life, Sensei Nick (as he's known) has served others — first as a distinguished member of the U.S. Army National Guard then later as a devoted husband and father and as a martial arts mentor at (and former owner of) Vision Quest Martial Arts.
But due to an unexpected turn of events, he and his family have exhausted their life savings and face not just a financial but also a psychological crisis.
It started when his wife, Shannon, fought a racial discrimination case against her former employer.
Sensei Nick was right there by her side — providing emotional and financial support while also caring for their child to allow Shannon to focus on her legal battle. But in an unjust twist, her ex-boss went to court to force her to pay back unemployment benefits.
The cumulative emotional and psychological stress of supporting his wife, caring for their child, and being the sole provider for the family for three years — on top of surviving a world-altering pandemic — was just TOO much.
It broke him.
Sensei Nick suffered from self-harm and suicidal ideations, which required hospitalization, intense in-patient treatment, and on-going outpatient group therapy.
With this mental health crisis combined with the fallout from their previous employment woes, the Millikens are now in dire financial straits.
Having gone from being debt-free entrepreneurs to blowing through their life savings and retirement investments, they no longer have a safety net even though their mortgage and healthcare bills continue to pile up.
Sensei Nick and his family are on the verge of LOSING their home.
The home they raised their daughter in.
The home they worked so hard for by serving others in their community.
How to Help
We CAN'T let this U.S. veteran and popular Karate instructor face this catastrophe alone.
Sensei Nick spent years serving his community as a self-defense instructor and his country as an Army National Guard.
It's time we serve him!
Simply sign up for the Super Seminar, learn life-saving self-defense, and help a martial arts leader who is in need!
All proceeds will go directly to the Milliken family to give them a fighting chance to get back on solid footing — financially, mentally, and emotionally.
And, remember, this Super Seminar is a once-in-a-lifetime training opportunity.
Normally, to study with such world-class masters for a weekend, it would easily cost you $500. But enrollment to the Super Seminar is NOT even half that amount.
The suggested donation amount is only $150 for both days of training.
